Find what needs attention
Generation runs validation on the workbook. Open a finding to reach the affected data and decide whether to fix a source mapping or complete the value with your team.
The Issues panel identifies the worksheet, field, and missing value. Here, required Category values still need attention.

Complete the data together
Invite the people who know the handover information. Edit cells, leave a comment when a value needs clarification, and inspect the corresponding model object in the same workspace.
The purple initials show collaborator presence. Select a cell to open its Comment and History actions.

Review the next revision
Import newer model versions to regenerate. Manual edits carry forward where row and column identities match. Compare the result, resolve remaining findings, and export the delivery workbook.
Version comparison separates added, removed, and changed rows so the team can review what moved between deliveries.

- Do I need Revit or a Revit add-in installed?
No. BIMRelay runs in the browser and extracts published Revit models from Autodesk Forma. An authorized Autodesk connection and access to the source models are needed to set up extraction; collaborators can complete the workbook without Revit installed.
- Does BIMRelay work with linked models?
Yes. A published host and selected discipline links feed one COBie workbook, with source-model identity retained. BIMRelay supports Revit 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027, subject to a compatible host and linked-model version set.
- Can I customize how BIMRelay generates COBie?
Yes. Configure asset scope, property mappings, naming rules, columns, required fields, and export settings within the COBie 2.4 worksheet structure. Existing Autodesk COBie Extension parameters can supply values, but they are optional.
- What happens to our edits when models change?
Importing a model update creates a new workbook version. Model-sourced values refresh, and manual edits carry forward where the row and column identities still match. Earlier workbook versions remain available, and the version comparison shows added, removed, and changed rows so nothing disappears silently.
- Are model updates automatic?
You can check for newer published models and import them when ready. Prefer it hands-off? Enable Automatic model updates and opening the project starts an extraction whenever Forma has a newer host or included link. Either way, your team decides when the workbook advances.
- Does generation mean the workbook is ready for handover?
Generation builds the workbook and runs validation, so review starts from concrete findings instead of a blank spreadsheet. From there, your team resolves missing values, confirms the asset scope, and reviews the deliverable against the owner's acceptance criteria.
